I absolutely love biscuits and I have tried so many recipes to find the PERFECT one. You know, to make the biscuit the perfect amount of fluffy and flaky! I finally figured out an amazing recipe and now I want to share it with y'all!
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 2.5 cups All-Purpose flour plus more for dusting
- 2 Tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 8 Tablespoons cold unsalted butter
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 Tablespoons salted melted butter for brushing
If you don't have buttermilk, you don't need it. Just pour a cup of milk and add a Tablespoon of Vinegar to it. Let it sit on the counter for 10 minutes.
How to make the biscuits:
- Preheat the oven to 425. Place flour, baking powder, sugar and salt into a food processor. Cut cold butter into small cubes and add to the food processor. Pulse about 6-7 times until it looks like a loose crumble. If you don't have a food processor, just cut the butter into the flour in a bowl with your hands. It's really easy and just takes slightly longer.
- Put flour into a large bowl and add in the buttermilk. Stir with a spatula until it is a doughy ball. Pour onto a floured surface. Flour the top of the dough as well and roll into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
- Fold the rectangle in half three times. Repeat this 3 times. The last time you roll it into a rectangle, make sure it is an inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter that is about 2.5 inches in diameter and cut out your biscuits. Place them on a parchment lined cooking sheet.
- With left over dough roll out again and cut out additional biscuits. Repeat until all the dough is used.
- Brush the top of the biscuits with the salted butter and cook for 15 minutes or until golden brown
Best Biscuits ever!!!
