9 Weeks Pregnant with a Stomach Bug

In general, I am an extremely healthy person. If my husband gets sick, I won't catch what ever he has and neither will our son. But since I'm pregnant again, I guess the little munchkin growing inside me is taking away the better half of my immune system.

This pregnancy is completely different from my first one.  I get nauseous, extremely tired ALL the time and I can't eat some of my favorite snacks. I made a delicious chicken last night but I couldn't eat it because the little munchkin didn't want it.😢 I was so mad. My first pregnancy was awesome! I didn't have morning sickness or nausea, I didn't get that tired and I could basically what ever I wished. Maybe it was because I was really active when I was pregnant that time. I was a cheer coach at a local gym and worked out with the girls 4 days a week until 2 weeks before I gave birth. I walked at least twice a week as well, especially when I got close to my due date.  Or maybe it is because every pregnancy is different. I think it is just a combination of both but I do prefer the last one over this one so far!

Back to my sickness that just sucked the life out me. I personally have never had this as far as I can remember. Everything I read online said to watch out for dehydration, especially when you're pregnant. Something extremely interesting that I learned during this is that when you have a stomach bug, all of your healthy gut bacteria leaves your body because of all the diarrhea. Well this means you need Kombucha. Kombucha is a natural pro-biotic that helps with creating good gut bacteria. Needless to say, I drank plenty of Kombucha to keep my immune system working properly.

Even though I put myself on a BRAT Diet (this is basically rice, bread, pasta and peanut butter), drank only water, ginger tea and kombucha I still was not getting better. Until I had a Swedish massage on Tuesday morning. After my massage I already started feeling better. On Wednesday morning, the diarrhea had already stopped and I felt like myself again. I honestly believe that the massage made all of the difference.

If you ever have a stomach bug, whether your pregnant or not, get a massage!

God Bless💗
